Discord’s official status page recorded a server-unavailability incident that affected some servers and related services, followed later by a voice endpoint-selection issue that could prevent calls from starting. What happened to Discord on September 2?
Discord’s status history shows that some servers were unavailable beginning at 09:12 PDT. The company said some users could not connect to some servers, and that voice calls and activities could also be affected. Discord marked the incident resolved at 11:26 PDT after reporting recovery and continuing investigation.
Later, from 16:26 to 16:42 PDT, Discord reported problems with voice endpoint selection. The company said calls could fail to start or fail to receive an endpoint, then applied a mitigation and marked the incident resolved.
Independent outage trackers also recorded the disruption. Down for Everyone or Just Me listed a roughly two-hour problem on September 3 UTC, including user reports involving login and audio/video, while Pulsetic’s incident history listed the server-unavailability event at about 2 hours 14 minutes.

Check Discord’s status page first
If servers, calls, or activities are unavailable, check Discord’s official status page before changing passwords, reinstalling the app, or deleting local data. A service-side incident can make normal troubleshooting ineffective.
Retry after the incident is resolved
Once Discord reports recovery, restart the app or refresh the browser, then try the affected server or call again. If only one server remains unavailable, the problem may be isolated rather than a platform-wide outage.
