I never received the email for it, it also never was in spam.

A user described this in an August 24, 2024 Reddit post, reporting that a request made months earlier had not produced a download email.

If you requested the ZIP only to reopen a lost DM, check whether you already know the correct User ID. Friendcord Instant can open the actual Discord conversation directly, without a new export. If you need the archive to identify the person, follow the delivery checks below while you wait.

Already know the User ID? Open the DM with Instant

1. Install the Friendcord mobile app and its browser extension in a supported browser. Open the extension and pair it with the app through the QR flow.

2. Use the correct original User ID in Friendcord’s direct Instant opening option. A channel ID or message ID is a different number. If you copied an anonymized deleted-user ID, follow our guide to finding the correct recipient.

3. Once the Instant connection is active, choose Open DM. Read the conversation’s remaining history in Discord.

Friendcord’s owner confirms that Instant can reopen conversations with users who blocked you or deleted their accounts. This does not restore individually deleted messages, reactivate accounts, or enable sending through a block. Those account states were not independently tested for this article.

Check the original mailbox and request date

Discord’s request instructions say preparation can take up to 30 days. The link goes to the email address linked to your account when you requested the data; changing that address afterward does not redirect it.

Search that mailbox’s inbox, spam, trash and archived mail. Note the date you submitted the request and which account it concerned. Keep any confirmation so you can distinguish a pending export from an unrelated support ticket.

You must wait for an active request to finish before submitting another. Disabling or deleting the account before delivery cancels the request. Check the current request guidance before trying again.

I've requested my data 2 times now from discord in the past 2 years but I've received nothing from them.

This separate May 26, 2025 Reddit report illustrates why repeated attempts need a support follow-up rather than an assumed delivery time. It is one user's experience, not a measured failure rate.

If the wait has exceeded the documented window, contact Discord support. State the request date, account involved, whether confirmation appeared, and which mailbox folders you checked. Ask for help with an undelivered data package. For lost account access, Discord’s official guide lists [email protected].

Friendcord cannot accelerate Discord’s export queue or redirect its emails. Its direct opening option helps when you already have the identity needed to open the DM.

Received an email, but the link fails?

Discord’s data-package guide says the download link remains active for 30 days. Check whether that period has passed. If it has, follow the current request process for a fresh package.

Identify which link failed: the archive download and a help article serve different purposes. A dead documentation link does not establish that the ZIP download is broken. If an unexpired download link fails, record the error and contact Discord privately; do not post the personal download URL in a public forum.

When the ZIP arrives, search it and reopen the chat

Keep the original ZIP and import it into Friendcord. Search a distinctive word you sent, such as a game, nickname or project. Narrow by date or user when helpful, then select the matching conversation and choose Open DM with Instant.

Discord’s export contains your sent messages. Friendcord searches those records to identify the chat, then Instant opens its remaining live history, including replies that still exist there. Individually deleted messages are excluded from new exports, according to Discord’s data guide.

If you already have the correct User ID, start with Instant. If you need to identify the conversation first, get Friendcord and import the ZIP when it arrives.
